Kwara still under the control of the FG- Mahmud Ajeigbe
The Kwara State Government on Friday said there was no invasion and occupation of 16 villages in the state by a neighbouring country as widely rumoured.
The Commissioner for Information and Communication, Alhaji Mahmud Ajeigbe, in a statement said the affected villages of Okuta District of Baruten Local Government Area of the state were calm and still under the control of the Nigerian Government.
Speaking further, he said foreign government had erected any structure or hoisted its national flag in any of the villages as erroneously reported in the media, however, the state government had reported the issue to the security agencies.
Ajeigbe said the Emir of Okuta, Alhaji Idris Abubakar; and the Chairman of Baruten Local Government Council; and security agencies in the area had all confirmed that residents of the 16 villages in the LG were going about their normal activities.
