Fuel scarcity bites harder in Enugu

 While the situation have abated in Rivers and Delta States the people of Enugu state are still grappling with the attendant effect of petroleum products, particularly the PMS, otherwise known as petrol.
The product is selling between N120 and 150 in few of the stations that have the products that was visited by our reporter in the Enugu with the exception of NNPC station, which is selling at the government approved pump price of N86.50.
The situation has led to resident taking up bed spaces at the filling stations in other to buy the scarce commodity.

A cross section of people interviewed at the filling stations lamented on the hardship they are passing through to get the supposed product we market to the outside world.

Speaking with Scrawl Post, Mr. Mike Eze said ' It beats my imagination how we degenerated to this level in our national life. How Nigeria The seventh largest exporter of crude, the so called giant of Africa cannot manage a refinery that we have to import for local consumption."
Another respondent, Barrister Obinna Ikeji said " the solution to this problem is simple if the government is willing. You do not need a turn around maintainance of the refineries, pull out the refining chamber and install a new one other infrastructures remain. This reccurrnt scarcity is becoming very embarrassing."
Responding, Mrs Beatrice Nwankwo said "Our problem in Enugu is compounded. The fuel problem coupled with the dollarization of pure water and and akpu. Transportation has jerked up. The government should do something before it turns to something else."
