HOUSE OF REPS: DECLARE FALEKE'S SEAT VACANT
The Kogi State Governor -elect, James Faleke, yesterday
returned to the house of Representative in Abuja to take up the seat he vacated
after he transferred his voter's card to Kogi State to enable him contest for
the deputy governorship election in the recently concluded governorship
election in the state.
He has announced that he will not be available for the
inauguration of the governor-elect, Yahaya Bello and is challenging in court, the party's decision to field Bello as
substitute to the late All Progressive Congress, APC, flag bearer Prince Abubakar Audu, instead of him as the governorship candidate in the
supplementary election.
In the meantime, Faleke, who returned amid cheers from colleagues took part in the day's plenary as a representative of Lagos State raises another issue legal.

Does he having transferred his voter's card to Kogi and
participated in an election there remains qualified to represent Lagos on the strength
of the initial election after changing place of origin and domicile.
What would have happened if the Independent National Electoral
Commission, INEC, had been alive to its responsible declared that seat vacant
and commenced the process of filling the vacancy within ninety days starting
from the day he transferred his voter's card to Kogi State.
Technically speaking Kogi State has an extra one member in the house than is legally required.
James faleke's seat should be declared vacant and another election organized
to fill the vacant position.
I expect legal fireworks to begin immediately concerning this
abnormality.
