Saraki loses at Supreme Court, to face trial
The Supreme court has dismissed the appeal of the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, where he requested that the Code of Conduct Bureau, CCB, be stopped from trying him for lack of merit.
The 7 man judges, led byJustice Walter Onnoghen dismissed Saraki’s appeal, stating that it lacks merit.
The CCT had arraigned the senate president for false declaration of assets on assumption of office as governor of Kwara state in 2003.
Saraki gad challenged 13- count corruption charge against prefered againt him by the code of conduct tribunal.
There has been drama in the case over the tribunal refusal to obey an interim injunction issued by Federal High Court in Abuja on September 17, 2015.
With this ruling Bukola Saraki will now have to stand trial.
Meanwhile the tribunal Chairman is facing a credibility test as he is been accused of corruption
