Supreme Court Upholds Death Sentence on Rev King


The Supreme Court has upheld the death sentence handed down the Senior Pastor of the Christian Praying Assembly, Lagos, Rev. Chukwuemeka Ezeugo alias  Reverend King by the Lagos state Court of Appeal.
Reverend King had challenged  the Lagos state Court of Appeal on January 11th 2007.
Justice Ngwuta in reading out the verdict said “the ‎facts of the case could have been lifted from horror film”, 
“This appeal has no merit. The judgement of the court of appeal is hereby affirmed. The prison sentence that was earlier handed to the appellant is no longer relevant in view of the death sentence passed on him”, Justice Ngwuta held.
The Pastor was sentenced to  death by hanging for the murder of one of his church members, Ann Uzoh on August 2nd 2006 who he set ablaze for allegedly committing fornication and and attempted murder of six other members of the church.
