CAF Champions League: Zamalek in good Start, TP Mazembe draw

 The newly appointed coach of  Zamalek's  of Egypt Alex McLeish started his first Champions African Champions League Match on a good note as his team a vital 1-0 victory against Union Douala in Cameroon in the first leg of their last 32.
Zamalek winning goal came in the 59minutes through defender Mohammed Koffi .
Mcleish,  former manager of Scotland, became the fourth coach of Zamalek this season after Portuguese, Brazilian and Egyptian managers were fired were fired for want of result.
The handler hand been unsuccessful in his previous jobs with England with Premiership side Aston Villa and Championship side, Birmingham City.
This result will definitely spur him to achieve more with an African top side Zamalek.
In another encounter ,TP Mazembe of the Democratic Republic of Congo, who is the current Champion, started their title defense on a  2-2 draw away to Saint George of Ethiopia.
TP Mazembe have the benefit of two away goals to their advantage the the Ethiopians come visiting in the second leg next weekend in Lumbumbashi.
The not too visible Saint George in Africa football took the lead in the 11th minute through Assefa Behaile.
On the stroke of half time, Ghanaian Daniel Nii Adjei equalised for Mazembe, while Isaac Isiende let his own side down courtsey an own goal giving the champions a 2-1 lead a minute into the second half.
Saint George's fighting spirit was paid off with an equaliser on the hour mark from Girma Adane to make it 2-2.
