NPFL: Nigeria Postpones mid week matches ahead of Egypt clash
The League Management Company (LMC) has announced the suspension of mid week matches in the Nigeria Professional Football League ahead of AFCON qualifier between Nigeria Super Eagles and the Pharaohs of Egypt until March 23 to allow for the adequate preparation by Super Eagles prepare
The decision issequel to the plea by the interim Eagles coach Samson Siasia to the LMC that the mid week matches be shifted to allow for adequate preparation by the home based Eagles..
“By March 23, the coach would have picked the players he will work with from the league for the Egypt matches and as such the other players could return to their various clubs,” a top official explained.
Three clubs, namely Enyimba, Warri Wolves and Nasarawa United, are equally involved in the CAF club competitions.
Nineteen players from the league are currently in the Super Eagles training camp in Abuja ahead of the AFCON qualifiers.
